We are in the season of many celebrations and hopefully much joy and fun! Depending on your religious or ethnic background/beliefs, there are several different things to celebrate during this time of the year. I would like to suggest that we should be celebrating all year, not just between the 4th Thursday in November (Thanksgiving) and January 1st.
We are encouraged to take time at this part of the year to reflect on the how the year has been and what the next year may be like for us. We are encouraged to give thanks for what we have. We are encouraged to think of others and help those in need have a better holiday season. And I am totally in agreement with those ideas, but I would like to suggest that we go one better.
What if we thought to celebrate every day? What if we remembered to give thanks for what we have every day? What if we encouraged others to have better lives and remembered those in need every day?
I try each evening to write down something that I am thankful for that happened that day. Some days it is easier than others, but if I try I can always find something. I try to remember to celebrate that I am alive and enjoy each day as much as I can.
I see life itself as being a celebration and I would like to suggest that maybe, just maybe, we could start celebrating every day and thinking of others every day. The holidays are fun and I love this time of year! I just want to add more joy to the rest of year. Something to think about, isn’t it?
Have a wonderful day!
