For the next month, I want to invite you to engage in an experiment with me. I want to see if we shift our focus to more of what we want and less of what we don’t want, will it make a difference in our life experience.
Each week, I will post an exercise that I will follow for that week and I invite anyone who wants to try it with me, to participate in the same exercise. It takes approximately 28 days of doing a behavior consistently to make it a habit. Then whatever we are doing different no longer requires as much effort because we are now used to doing it. (for example, exercising or meditating)
To get us started, choose an area of your life where you would like to see change or accomplish something. Write It Down on a piece of paper! This is an integral part of the process. If you just keep it in your head and don’t write it down, you change the dynamic. I am writing mine down and in order to truly participate, you must do the same.
No one has to share what they are trying to accomplish (unless they choose to at the end), but you do need to be honest with yourself about your chosen area and your consistency in following through with the plan. Take a few days to choose an area to focus on and I will post the first week’s exercise in a couple of days.
The only requirements for this experiment are an open mind and a willingness to have fun! If both of those are present, this should be pretty simple and it will be interesting to see what results happen. I will post my experiences on here and if anyone wants to share your experience, please let me know at beaconprofessionalcounseling.com !
